12th Annual Conference on Sustainable Tourism Development

The Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) would like to invite you and your members to attend our 12th Annual Conference on Sustainable Tourism Development (STC-12) to be held from April 4 – 6, 2011 at the Fairmont Southampton hotel, Bermuda.

The theme is Keeping the Right Balance: Rising Above the Numbers. CTO represents 33 countries in the English, Spanish, French and Dutch speaking Caribbean (www.onecaribbbean.org and www.caribbeantravel.com). The Caribbean is the most tourism dependent region in the world and its sustainability is at the core of what we do as an international tourism development organization.

While the entire conference will be very interesting to the private sector, we would like to highlight that the Sessions scheduled for April 5th will be of special interest to the private sector as much of it is linked to the topical area of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

There will be a panel discussion (The Power of Partnerships) and two simultaneous workshops (Save the Planet, Save Your Money: Cutting Costs through Responsible Resource Use and The Sustainability Report Card: How to Avoid Green Washing) which will be led by dynamic speakers and facilitators. These highly interactive sessions will present valuable opportunities to communicate your organization’s specific challenges with a view to finding solutions to them based on best practices. Kindly note that we have arranged a 30% discounted airfare on American Airlines and discounted accommodation at Fairmont Southampton hotel for our delegates.

Thank you for your support of this important event and we look forward to seeing you in the beautiful island of Bermuda where you’ll “feel the love.”
